Kung fu nuns of Nepal.

Fantastic

These are the Drukpa Buddhist nuns. After the April 25, 2015 earthquake in Nepal, they stayed in devastated areas and helped clear rubble, and provide food and shelter.

This nunnery was inspired to train in kung fu by female martial artists from Vietnam. These nuns defy tradition for Buddhist nuns and eschew domestic work in the service of monks for community service, education and activism.

Paintings by David Booth

Born in 1986 in Dublin, David Booth received his BFA in 2009. David deals with the figure as the central source of his work. Through a diagnostics of the social structure, his work looks to prospect, using painting to archive and index the immediate human form and circumstance. He has exhibited his work nationally and internationally and has work in both private and public collections. David currently lives and works in Dublin City.

This classic, depression era photo by Dorothea Lange, a world famous American photographer, was declared “Explicit” by the censors of the new Tumblr.

Shame.
